Barry Cryer is one of Britain’s truly great comedy writers and performers and has contributed to the UK’s entertainment industry for over 50 years. He has written for some of Britain’s most highly rated shows and many of its most popular comedians. His wit, life experience and huge sense of the comedic are still enjoyed by millions – on radio, television and theatre performances.
He has become one of the country’s most popular after dinner speakers and has spoken at tributes to Gene Kelly, Tommy Steele, Frankie Howerd and Harry Secombe. He has addressed and entertained at hundreds of corporate events including British Leyland, The Coal Board, Avon Cosmetics, British Telecom, Smiths Foods, ITV Advertisers, the Institute of Bankers (3 times), Fiat, Websters Brewery and EMI. He has also presided over the Sony Video Awards ceremony.
Barry has spoken before the Prince and the late Princess of Wales at both Guildhall and the Mansion House, entertained Princess Anne in music hall and shared speaking duties with the Duke of Edinburgh at the Savoy Hotel.
